W.L. Weller Full Proof is a Kentucky straight wheated bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort. It is bottled at 114 proof (57% ABV) in a 75cl bottle, the same strength at which it went into the barrel, and it is non-chill-filtered.
Wheat replaces rye as the secondary grain in the mashbill, which gives the Weller range its softer, rounder style. The bourbon is aged in new charred oak.
The nose is vanilla, dark cherries and caramel. The palate is dense and layered, with deep caramel, toasted cinnamon, dark stone fruit and oak, and the long finish brings crème brûlée, vanilla bean and chocolate.
