W.L. Weller Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl)

This is a straight bourbon from the Weller range, in a 75cl bottle. Each bottling comes from a single hand-picked barrel, so the character varies a little from one barrel to the next. The range is named after William Larue Weller, born in 1825, who made his name using wheat in the mash bill in place of the more usual rye. The notes describe a nose of cherry and mint fading to vanilla. Caramel, baking spices and hints of cocoa lead on the palate, followed by a finish of cinnamon, coffee and a little pepper.
