W.L. Weller Special Reserve is a Kentucky straight bourbon made at Buffalo Trace Distillery, bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. It uses wheat in place of rye, which makes it a wheated bourbon, and it has a deep amber colour.
The style is soft and rounded, with caramel, vanilla and toffee in the character.
The nose is sweet, with caramel and vanilla. The palate moves to honey, butterscotch and toasted oak, smooth and gentle. The finish is long, with honeysuckle.
