Weller 12 Year Old is a wheated bourbon made at Buffalo Trace Distillery and named after William Larue Weller, who is credited as the first to produce a wheated bourbon. Wheat in the mash bill gives the spirit a sweet, mellow character.
Caramel and vanilla lead the nose, followed by dried fruits, oak and a touch of spice. The palate is well balanced, with honey, butterscotch and toffee, and a gentle warmth develops on the finish.
