Westland – Watchpost 8 Year Old Blended American Whiskey (42.5%)

Westland Watchpost is an 8 year old blended American whiskey from Westland Distillery in Seattle, Washington, bottled at 42.5% ABV. It departs from the distillery's usual single malt focus, combining Westland's own 8 year old American single malt with grain whiskey sourced from MGP. The malt is made from Westland's five-malt mash bill and aged in new charred oak and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The grain whiskey is matured separately in ex-bourbon barrels before blending. The whiskey was created as a tribute to the outdoor culture of the Pacific Northwest. The nose offers apricot, toasted biscuit, milk chocolate and cherry pie. The palate is soft and slightly buttery, with lemon curd, vanilla and caramelised sugar, and the finish brings caramel and a touch of oak spice.
