Westward American Single Malt Whiskey (70cl, 45%)

An American single malt whiskey from Westward, the brand of House Spirits Distillery in Portland, Oregon, in a 70cl bottle at 45%. It starts as an ale brewed from locally sourced Pacific Northwest malted barley, fermented with ale yeast at a low temperature. The ale is distilled twice in copper pot stills, then aged at a relatively low proof in new, lightly toasted American oak barrels. Fully matured barrels are combined in small batches. The house character is described as balanced and bold, with spice and sweetness.
