WhistlePig Old World is a 12 year old straight rye whiskey, bottled at 86 proof (43%) in a 750ml bottle.
It is a marriage of ryes aged in new American oak and then finished in three kinds of cask: Port (7%), French Sauternes (30%) and Madeira (63%).
The idea comes from Old World barrel-ageing traditions, and it sets out to pair the boldness and character of American rye with elegance and grace.
