WhistlePig PiggyBank Rye is a 10 year old straight rye whiskey made from 100% rye, and Batch 1 is the first release in the PiggyBank decanter series. It was launched in 2022 to mark ten years since WhistlePig won its first Best Rye Award. The whiskey was distilled in Alberta, Canada, then aged and bottled at WhistlePig Farm in Vermont, at 110 proof (55%).
It comes in a dark glass pig decanter modelled on a 19th century English ceramic design. It is hand wax sealed and pours from the rear of the pig.
The nose has bright mint and dill, light truffle and rye grain. The palate is peppery and herbaceous, with tobacco, citrus peel and anise. The finish is long and spicy, with oak tannin.
