Feather & Flame is the twelfth edition in WhistlePig's Boss Hog series. It is a single barrel straight rye whiskey at cask strength, 52.4% ABV (104.8 proof), hand bottled on the WhistlePig Farm in Vermont.
The rye was finished in Pulque Curado de Cacao barrels. Pulque is a traditional Mexican agave drink, and here it is infused with cacao. The nose is cacao nibs, roasted spice and caramelised oak. The palate is full-bodied rye spice with cocoa, agave nectar, leather and a hint of molasses. The finish is long and warming, with dark chocolate and earthy oak.
