Whyte & Mackay Special Blend is a Scotch blended whisky made from malt and grain whiskies, in a large 1.14 litre bottle at 40% ABV. Its maturation includes ex-sherry cask influence, which brings dried-fruit, nutty and spiced character.
The colour is medium amber. The nose has citrus and dried fruit with pepper, light peat, vanilla and gentle oak. The palate is smooth and warming, with dried fruit, honeyed malt, toasted nuts and baking spice, then a subtle smokiness. The finish is warm, with peppery spice, fruit and a gentle trace of smoke.
