This is an 8 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from Wild Turkey, bottled at 101 proof (50.5% ABV) on 24 May 1994, the date printed on the label. It was made at the Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, in the years when Jimmy Russell was in charge. The mashbill is high in rye, which shapes the style. The nose offers rich caramel, rye spice and toasted oak, with vanilla and leather. The palate is full and bold, with butterscotch, dark fruit, cinnamon and an assertive rye character. The finish is long and warming.
