Wolfburn – Aurora

Aurora is a single malt from Wolfburn, the distillery founded in 2013 in Thurso, on the north coast of Scotland. It is the distillery's second official bottling, named after the northern lights, a regular sight in that part of the country. The whisky was matured in a combination of American ex-bourbon casks and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. The nose opens with a fine sherry sweetness, alongside dried fruit and malted barley. On the palate there is a gentle warmth, autumn fruits and nutty notes from the sherry, with a touch of spice in the background. It stays soft and mellow throughout.
