Wolfburn – Cognac Cask Finished

This is the first Cognac cask finish single malt from Wolfburn. The distillery secured a small number of Cognac casks made from French Limousin oak in mid-2024. The whisky matured in first-fill bourbon casks from 2017, then spent its final six months in those Cognac casks. Only 3,900 bottles were filled. It is non-chill-filtered and natural colour. The nose combines dried fruits and brandy sweetness with vanilla, a little coffee and dark chocolate. On the palate are dried apricots, almonds, vanilla and gentle spice, with barley sugar and soft dark chocolate later. The finish is sweet, with vanilla and autumn fruits, ending on caramel and sea salt.
