This is the first general release of single malt from Wolfburn, the distillery that opened in 2013. A total of 16,000 bottles were filled by hand.
The whisky matured in small ex-Islay quarter casks.
The nose starts sweet, with fruit and fresh sea air, and behind it sit citrus freshness, hints of cereal and a small trace of peat smoke. The palate is also sweet, with nutty notes, grapes and honey in the background, plus floral tones, followed by a touch of coffee and dark chocolate.
