Wolfburn – Inaugural Release

Wolfburn Inaugural Release is the first whisky from the modern Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso, Caithness. Distilling began there on 25 January 2013, on the site of the historic Wolfburn Distillery. It comes from the first casks to leave the stills. The whisky was matured for three years in bourbon and sherry casks. Only 875 bottles were filled, each numbered and engraved, in a handmade oak presentation box. The nose is delicately floral, with fresh fruits, sweet malt and a hint of peat. The palate has honeyed sweetness, nuttiness, soft spice and subtle sherry, and the finish brings lingering smoke and oak.
