This is an unpeated Wolfburn single malt, the eighth official Small Batch release, bottled in an outturn of 4,900 bottles.
It is a vatting of two parts: whisky matured for 8 years in first fill ex-bourbon barrels and whisky matured for 7 years in first fill Caribbean rum barrels.
The nose has roasted figs and plums meeting candied ginger, with plum sauce, toffee, marzipan and sultanas. The rum influence is clear on the palate, with molasses, layers of sweetness, fruit and honey, and oaky tannins. The finish is intensely fruity.
