Wolfburn No. 204 is a small batch single malt, the fifth official small batch release from the distillery. Only 5,800 bottles were filled.
The whisky matured for five years in first-fill bourbon barrels, then spent a further six months in first-fill Madeira hogsheads.
The nose is rich with sweet-wine aromas, followed by deep bourbon sweetness. The palate is sweet and full-bodied, with burnt sugar, soft oak and vanilla, hazelnuts and a touch of orange. The finish stays sweet, leaving traces of honey and butterscotch.
