A lightly peated single malt from Wolfburn, with peat at around 10 ppm. Half the whisky spent seven years in first-fill PX sherry butts and half spent seven years in first-fill bourbon barrels. This is the seventh official small batch release, and 5,100 bottles were filled. Molasses syrup and coffee lead the nose, with subtle cherries and dried spices. On the palate hazelnuts, almonds and cloves come through, wrapped in soft peat smoke and gentle tannins. The finish stays syrupy and sweet, with a touch of spice and a trace of lingering smoke.
