Wolves 5 Year is an American single malt from the California brand Wolves Whiskey, made from 100 percent malted barley and shaped early on by a copper alembic pot still. It is bottled at 96 proof (48%).
The spirit spends five years in California wine barrels in the Arizona heat. Hand-selected barrels are then blended and given a final rest in aged Cognac casks.
The nose is honey, graham cracker, caramel and ripe red fruit, including raspberry, fig and dried apricot. The palate brings vanilla custard, raspberry jam, cherry, nutmeg, clove, sweet oats and honeyed sweetness. The finish is warm and steady, with allspice, spiced grain, subtle oak and red berry.
