Writers' Tears Cask Strength is a blend of aged single pot still and single malt Irish whiskeys, matured in American oak casks. This 2022 release is bottled at 54.6% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
Each year Bernard Walsh selects a handful of casks for this expression. It is non-chill filtered, and just 7,920 bottles were made.
The nose offers ginger and pepper spice with rich butterscotch. On the palate there are toasted oak, biscuit and dark chocolate alongside sweet vanilla.
