Writers' Tears Red Head is a triple-distilled Irish single malt in a 75cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is not chill filtered.
The whiskey is matured only in Spanish sherry butts that previously held Oloroso sherry. These casks give it a rich, ruby colour, which is where the name Red Head comes from.
The nose offers orange peel, dried fruits and sherry plums. The palate is nutty Oloroso with spicy raisins and creamy oak, and the finish is long and complex, with a flourish of orange.
