1770 Glasgow 6 Year Old Amarone Cask Finish (70cl, 53%)

This 6 year old single malt from the Glasgow distillery was distilled twice, on 14 May 2019. It spent five years in first fill bourbon barrels, then 21 months in former Amarone wine barriques from northern Italy. It is a small batch vatted from three casks, giving 1,060 bottles at 53%, each a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The nose has ripe strawberries, dark cherries, soft toffee and floral notes. The palate shows vanilla, banana and fresh orange with an earthy spice. The finish is long and dry, with dark chocolate, woody spice and earthy warmth.
