1770 Glasgow Single Malt Peated is a peated single malt from The Glasgow Distillery, labelled Release No. 1 and bottled at 46% in a 50cl bottle. The malt is peated to 50 ppm. It matured in first-fill ex-sherry casks and was then finished in virgin oak. The distillery was re-established in 2012 and is the first single malt distillery in the city since 1902. The name 1770 comes from the original Glasgow Distillery, founded in that year at Dundashill. The nose combines sweet smoke, dried fruits, flamed orange peel and rich caramel. The palate has spiced orange, sweet smoke, caramel, peanuts and dark fruits, and the finish is long and soft with macadamia and spices.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
