Glasgow 1770 Peated is a Lowland single malt from Glasgow Distillery's 1770 series, made when the distillery reopened the city's whisky tradition. When it opened in 2014, it was the first new whisky distillery in Glasgow for more than 100 years. The whisky is made from local barley and water from Loch Katrine, and distilled in traditional copper stills. Its smoke comes from aromatic Highland heather peat. It matured in new oak casks and was finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour. The nose is sweet smoke with dried fruit, black pepper and flamed orange. On the palate come peat smoke, sage, dark caramel and cocoa nibs, followed by a finish of salted caramel, liquorice and spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
