1770 Glasgow The Original Cask Strength (70cl, 61.3%)

This is the first cask strength single malt from the Glasgow Distillery Company, a Lowland distillery founded in 2014. It is Batch 1, bottled at 61.3% in a 70cl bottle, in an outturn of 750 bottles. It is neither coloured nor chill-filtered. The whisky matured first in first fill bourbon casks and then received a finish in virgin oak casks. The nose is fruity, with wild berries, juicy grapes, apples and vanilla, plus caramel and toffee. The palate shows blackberries, apples and pears, with caramel, vanilla, nuts and pastry. The finish is long, fruity and lightly spicy.
