1792 Aged Twelve Years is a bourbon from Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, bottled at 48.3% ABV (96.6 proof). It matured for the full twelve years in new charred American white oak barrels, and is marketed with a high-rye mash bill.
The nose brings caramel apple, raspberry and icing sugar over oak and vanilla. On the palate, silky caramel gives way to milk chocolate, brown sugar and nougat, with roasted oak. The finish is led by rye spice and charred oak, with mixed nuts, graham cracker and cocoa nibs.
