1792 Bottled in Bond is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, bottled at 50% (100 proof) in a 75cl bottle.
As a Bottled-in-Bond bourbon, it was distilled in a single season, aged for at least four years in a bonded warehouse and bottled at 100 proof. It is made from a high-rye mashbill of roughly 74 to 75% corn, 15 to 18% rye and 8 to 10% malt.
Rye spice leads the nose, with vanilla, caramel, charred oak and a trace of mint. The palate has red apple, caramel, seasoned oak, coffee and black pepper. The finish is medium-long and spicy, with rye, charred oak and a dry warmth.
