1792 Full Proof is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, bottled at 62.5% in a 750ml bottle.
It is bottled at the same strength at which it entered the barrel, with no water added after maturation, and it is non-chill filtered, passing only through a plate and frame filter. The mashbill is high in rye, thought to be 75 percent corn, 15 percent rye and 10 percent malted barley, and the bourbon spent roughly seven to eight and a half years in new charred American oak.
The nose brings caramelised oak, vanilla bean, brown sugar and toasted nuts. The palate has dark chocolate, roasted coffee, cinnamon and cherry, with a thick, oily texture. The finish is long, with toffee, oak and a tobacco-like dryness.
