2 Gingers is an Irish whiskey blending single malt with column-distilled grain whiskey, aged for four years and bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. It is made at Kilbeggan Distillery in County Westmeath, a site with roots going back to 1757.
The whole spirit is double distilled, rather than triple distilled as is usual for Irish whiskey. The malt is made from 100% malted barley.
The nose leads with vanilla, light citrus zest and a little baked apple. The palate is smooth and malty, with honey, butterscotch, soft baking spice and caramel over mellow oak. The finish is clean and lightly sweet, with vanilla and a touch of citrus.
