This is a 25 year old Highland single malt from an undisclosed distillery, bottled by the independent bottler Artful Dodger at 49.1% ABV in a 50cl bottle.
It matured for its whole life in a single bourbon hogshead, number 5.
In the glass it is a warm amber. The nose combines waxy citrus with a buttery, creamy honey sweetness. The palate is syrupy and fruity, with fine vanilla and a restrained savoury spice. The finish is notably long, leaving a mineral, chalky impression with gentle pepper and a waxy character.
