The Dalmore Port Wood Reserve grew out of Dalmore's experiments with casks from around the world. It is bottled at 46.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The whisky was matured first in American white oak bourbon casks, then finished in port pipes from W&J Graham, pairing Dalmore's weighty spirit with port-cask fruit and spice.
The nose offers sweet red berries, Seville oranges, plummy fruit and sticky toffee pudding. On the palate are nectarines, creamy caramel, roasted chestnuts and Java coffee. The finish brings rich plums, sultanas, blood oranges and macerated cherries.
