Aberargie – Inaugural Malt (70cl, 48.2%)

Aberargie Inaugural Malt is the first release from the family-owned Aberargie Distillery in Perthshire, Scotland. It is a single malt made from estate-grown Golden Promise and Laureate barley, in a field-to-glass approach, and it comes in a 70cl bottle at 48.2% ABV. The whisky is matured in an equal combination of first-fill Bourbon barrels and first-fill Sherry casks. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The nose offers baked apple, golden pastry, honey, sultanas and soft oak spice. The palate shows stewed orchard fruits, vanilla, toasted coconut, buttery pastry and dried fruit. The finish is long and balanced, with gentle baking spice and a subtle herbal note.
