Aberargie – Inaugural Release Limited Edition (70cl, 48.2%)

Aberargie Inaugural Release is the first single malt from the Aberargie distillery, which stands on the border between the Highlands and Lowlands. The first new make ran from the still in November 2017. The whisky was matured in first-fill bourbon and sherry casks and bottled at 48.2% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour, in an edition of 1,152 bottles. The barley comes entirely from the distillery's own 300-acre farm and is 52% Golden Promise and 48% Laureate. The nose has baked apple, golden pastry, a touch of honey, dried fruit and fine spice. The palate is soft and structured, with sultanas and prunes, and the finish runs medium to long with a herbal note.
