Aberargie – Laureate Barley Release (70cl, 48.2%)

Aberargie Laureate Barley Release is a single malt made entirely from Laureate barley, one of the two barley varieties used at the distillery. It is bottled at 48.2% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured in a combination of 32% first-fill bourbon casks and 68% first-fill sherry casks. Aberargie sits on the Morrison family's farm just south of Perth, where the barley is grown, and casks have been laid down there since November 2017. On the nose there are candied orange peel, dried fruits and crisp orchard fruit. The palate is honeyed and well balanced, leading to a lingering finish.
