A 12-year-old Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40%. It is aged for at least twelve years in a mix of sherry and bourbon casks, refill casks and re-charred casks. The malt is made without peat, so the very fine smoke in the finish comes from the casks. It belongs to The Last Great Malts series.
The distillery stands in the town of Aberfeldy and began production in 1898. It was built by John Alexander and Tommy Dewar to secure malt for the family's blends.
The nose combines heather honey, pineapple, buttery toffee, cereal and vanilla. The palate is syrupy, with vanilla, creamy fudge, honey, spice and orange peel. The soft finish leaves spice and a very faint smoke.
