This 16 year old Aberfeldy was distilled in 1996 and matured in a single sherry hogshead, which yielded 204 bottles. It is bottled at 56.5% in a 70cl bottle. The cask was chosen to accompany Unravel, a collaboration between the Scottish artists FOUND and Aidan Moffat. It is a sound installation in which visitors play records from a narrator's collection to piece together his life. The nose offers caramel, fudge, amontillado sherry and nuts. The palate is honeyed and lightly spiced, with muscovado sugar and fig pudding, and the finish is long with lingering honeyed sherry.

Palate

Long, lightly spiced, with lingering honeyed sherry

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
