Aberfeldy 16 Year Old is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky, matured for 16 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks and then finished in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. It comes in a 75cl bottle.
The finish adds dark fruits, baking spices and fruitcake to the lush heather honey and malt of the distillery's house character.
The nose brings dark raisins, sweet cinnamon and cloves with heather honey, vanilla fudge and a touch of orange peel. The palate opens with honeyed malt, fruitcake and sultanas, then moves to dark chocolate, spiced apple and toasted oak. The finish is long and smooth, with dry oak spice and a hint of dark cocoa.
