Aberfeldy 16 Year Old is a Perthshire single malt matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, with a balance between sweetness and spice.
The distillery was founded by John Dewar & Sons, built in 1896 and opened in 1898.
The nose begins with raisins and cinnamon, moving to butterscotch, caramel and dried apple, with a touch of floral malt. The palate is mellow and well rounded, with apple at first, then poached pear in dark chocolate sauce, clementine segments and honey on toast.
