This is an 8 year old Aberfeldy single malt, bottled by Claxton's for its Warehouse No. 8 series. It was distilled on 28 July 2014 and matured in a refill Oloroso sherry octave until it was bottled in winter 2022. Only 50 bottles were filled.
The nose recalls a good panettone, with brandy and iced ginger cake. On the palate there is more ginger cake and brandy butter, with sweet oak and light sherry notes. The finish is long, with plenty of oak, rich dessert flavours and gently spicy ginger lingering at the end.
