This Benrinnes is a 14 year old Speyside single malt bottled by Adelphi at 58.3% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2026.
It comes from cask 300165, a refill oloroso sherry butt that produced 542 bottles. A butt holds around 500 litres, among the largest casks used in Scotland, and the oloroso pushes the malt towards dark fruit, caramel and spice.
The nose is fruity and indulgent: blueberry, molasses caramel, Syrah, strawberry laces, fruit eau-de-vie and walnut. The dense, pastry-like palate has nutmeg, blackberry Danish, Tic Tac, varnished wood, orange zest, chocolate drops, Biscoff spread and Ovaltine. The finish is spicy, complex and lasting.
