Adelphi Blair Athol 13 Year Old 2011 Cask 305328

This is a 13 year old single malt from Blair Athol, selected and bottled by Adelphi at cask strength. It was matured entirely in a first-fill bourbon barrel. Much of Blair Athol's spirit goes into bourbon casks, mainly for use in Bell's blended Scotch whisky. Adelphi chose this cask with flavour as the priority rather than age alone. The nose is creamy vanilla with orchard fruit, and tropical fruit emerges gradually. The palate is full-bodied, with a pronounced alcohol bite on arrival that softens to reveal fresh fruit. The finish is medium to long, with caramel and fruity hard candy and a sweet aftertaste.
