Aglianico Sannio DOC La Guardiense

A red wine from La Guardiense with a profile typical of Aglianico: intense ruby colour, red and dark fruit notes, faint floral hints, and a spicy, herbaceous trace. On the nose there are ripe cherry, plum and a subtle black pepper note. On the palate it shows structure and lively acidity balancing present but not excessive tannins, giving an overall impression of compactness and persistence without excess. It is measured in style and suits roasted or stewed meats, meat ragù, aged or semi-aged cheeses, and tomato-based dishes with pronounced savouriness. Serve at around 16-18 °C, with a brief rest if preferred.
