Akashi Bourbon Cask 5 Year Old (50%)

Akashi Bourbon Cask 5 Year Old comes from the Eigashima distillery in Japan, which was among the first in the country to be licensed to make malt whisky, in 1919. It is a limited edition, bottled at 50% ABV. The whisky is assembled from single malts aged for five years in American oak casks that previously held bourbon. The nose is fresh, with vanilla and light peat. The palate is generous, with woody and spicy notes, and the finish is long, with soft spice and salt.
