Akashi Sherry Cask 5 Year Old (50%)

Akashi Sherry Cask is a 5 year old whisky from the Eigashima distillery in Akashi, Japan, bottled at 50%. It was aged in casks that held Spanish sherry, which gives its amber-brown colour, and it is bottled without colouring or chill filtration. The nose is powerful, with dried fruit, vanilla, prunes and almonds. On the palate the dried fruit and almonds grow stronger with each sip, leading to a delicate, lingering finish of fruit and flowers.
