Ritto Peated is a single malt from Akkeshi on Hokkaido in Japan, made from strongly peated malts. It is matured in oak casks and comes in a 70cl bottle.
The nose combines peat smoke with oak, a light malty sweetness and iodine hints of the sea. The palate is full, balancing robust smoke against soft malt, and the finish is clean and lasting.
