Akkeshi – 'The Greeting of Snow' 2023 (70cl)

Akkeshi 'The Greeting of Snow' is a Japanese malt and grain whisky in a 70cl bottle, from the 2023 release. It is the Shosetsu expression in Akkeshi's 24 Sekki series, which follows the micro seasons of the Japanese solar year. Shosetsu covers 22 November to 6 December, when the sun and trees grow subdued ahead of winter. The whisky pairs sharp citrus with baking spice and smoke. The nose is candied lemon, pickled ume and sweet grains. Orange peel and smoky cedar lead the palate, and the finish is bitter lemon peel with vanilla cream.
