Akkeshi – Taisetsu 2022 Heavily Peated Single Malt (70cl, 55%)

Akkeshi Taisetsu 2022 is a heavily peated Japanese single malt, bottled at 55% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is neither coloured nor chill-filtered, and it is the tenth release in the 24 Solar Term Series, which takes the old Asian calendar as its model. The Akkeshi distillery in Hokkaido sits a few metres from the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by marshes, with local peat close at hand. Taisetsu names the season when plains and mountains lie under snow. The whisky matured in bourbon barrels, among others. Its flavour is marked by orange, mandarin, herbs and peat.
