Akkeshi – 'Nature Thrives' Japanese Whisky 2023 (70cl)

Akkeshi 'Nature Thrives' is the eleventh release in the distillery's Twenty-Four Season series. It takes its name from Shoman, the eighth season of the solar year, when crops begin to put on new growth after the winter thaw. This is a blend of malt and grain whisky. Whisky matured in Hokkaido Mizunara oak forms the main part of the blend, vatted with whisky from a variety of other barrels, including ex-rum casks. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The palate balances savoury and sweet: golden apple, muscat grapes and tropical fruit alongside charred wood, maple bacon and white pepper.
