Akkeshi – 'Glistening White Dew' Single Malt Japanese Whisky 2023 (70cl)

Glistening White Dew, or Hakuro, is a 2023 single malt from Akkeshi and part of its 24 Sekki series, which sets out to capture the micro seasons of the Japanese solar year. Hakuro marks the heart of September, from the 8th to the 22nd, when dewy summer nights meet the last of the season's vibrance. The malt is rich in pastry notes, balanced by touches of fruit and tannin. The nose brings sandalwood with honey, freshly baked Dakea bread and pastry cream. The palate is rich and smoky with persimmon, leading to a finish of bittersweet chocolate, black tea and smoky incense.
