Amahagan Edition No. 3 Mizunara Wood Finish (70cl, 47%)

Amahagan Edition No. 3 is a blended malt from Nagahama in Japan's Shiga prefecture, finished in Japanese Mizunara oak. It builds on Edition No. 1, which combines Nagahama's own malt with malt whiskies from abroad, and the finish adds the distinctive aroma of Mizunara wood. It is bottled at 47%, without chill-filtration or added colour. The nose is sweet and layered, with orange and red apple, then fragrant Mizunara, caramel and sweet oak. On the palate come brown sugar and orange cake, followed by the bitterness of dark chocolate. The long finish combines lively citrus with warm wood and a firm bitter note.
